Who can We Help?

Many of our therapists and counsellors identify as LGBTQ, and all have received specialised training and supervision to be LGBTQ+ aware, affirmative and inclusive.

There are many reasons why someone who identifies as gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, asexual or non-binary may reach out for therapy and counselling/

Here are a few examples:

  • Someone who is discovering that their current gender identity doesn’t match what they feel it is inside
  • Someone who feels like they don’t fit in because of their non—binary or asexual identity
  • Someone who has recently been homophobically abused and needs to talk about the experience
  • A parent whose child has recently come out as transgender and wants to speak about what it all means.
  • A spouse whose partner has come out as gay and needs their own space to process their feelings.
  • A same-sex couple who are going through some troubles and need to work it out with an LGBTQ+ affirmative couple’s counsellor.
  • Support for a teenager who can’t come out as gay because of homophobic parents.
