Alex Macauley

Counsellor

About Me:

I am a humanistic integrative counsellor currently training at CPPD counselling school at diploma level.  Previous to this I completed 2 years counselling training at Birkbeck University. The course I am studying is BACP accredited, which means that I am held to a high ethical standard in regards to my practice.

What to Expect:

Building a therapeutic relationship is at the core of what I do, as in any relationship things can become challenging, but together we can work through and identify what may be causing difficulty.  I have some experience of working with difference and diversity, coming from a mixed heritage background I think adds to this.  Addiction is another area where I have some experience and I currently work in this area, I also have an understanding of the 12 step model of recovery.  Class is something which comes up again and again throughout my life and is another area I would be ready to explore with you.

My Approach:

Being a humanistic integrative counsellor means that, I integrate different counselling modalities to suit each individual.  We are all different so I believe it’s important to see what happens when we meet and get a sense of where we are, then move forward together using as a guide whichever style of counselling fits.

Area of Focus:

I have highlighted just a few of the subjects/issues where I believe a certain stuckness and uncomfortability can arise.  Together we can strive to face these and any other presenting issues with honesty and integrity so as to change the quality of your experience into something positive and nourishing.

Lets Connect:
