James O’Callaghan

Counsellor

About Me:

Hi, I’m James. I am working towards my professional qualification at the Minster Centre – one of the longest established and leading Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling training institutions in Europe.  I am a student member of the BACP and as such work to their ethical framework.  I will be seeing clients in person in Queens Park, NW6.

What to Expect:

I offer a warm and accepting space where you can feel supported and heard without judgment. We’ll work together to understand why you’re seeking therapy and what you hope to achieve.  Therapy can help you to uncover patterns that might be holding you back and explore ways to move forward.  I’m interested in learning about your experiences and how they shape your life.

My Approach:

I work in an integrative way which means that I draw from multiple modalities including person-centred, psychodynamic, and body psychotherapy.  I believe that the most important part of therapy is the relationship between the therapist and client.

Area of Focus:

I work with clients with a wide range of experiences including stress, trauma, anxiety, family issues, bereavement, depression, and experiences/fears of abandonment.

I also work in an affirmative and sex-positive way with people of varied sexual identities – including the LGBTQIA+ community, those exploring non-conformative sexual practices and relationship styles, and/or sex workers.
