Joseph Cocklin
Counsellor
Hello, I’m Joe. I am a trainee integrative therapist currently studying an MSc in Counselling and Coaching. Outside of counselling, I am a creative at heart. My background as an actor, facilitator, and director led to creative producing, eventually becoming deputy of an arts charity and theatre. I've also partnered with CAMHS and Oxleas NHS, supporting young people (16-25) with complex mental health needs and adults with learning differences. My arts background sparked a deep interest in the human experience, leading me to train as a counsellor and coach. Through my leadership role, I also have a deep understanding of the stresses of modern working life.
I am interested in how our past influences our present, and how self-awareness helps us move forward with greater autonomy. I predominantly use humanistic and psychodynamic approaches. When approaching complex trauma, anxiety, and stress, I work from a body-up approach, bringing somatic work into our relationship. Ultimately, my approach is flexible and is always attuned to your needs as the client.
