Louise Bowyer

Counsellor

About Me:

Hi, I’m Louise. I’m in my final year of a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

What to Expect:

I have a background in law and worked with asylum-seekers and refugees for a number of years as a legal caseworker and solicitor. I have a deep understanding of the demands of an often stressful and high stakes profession and how this can weigh heavily, working its way into all areas of our lives. I believe that having a safe and non-judgemental space to explore this means that together we can explore ways to cope with these demands,

My Approach:

My training is integrative and I believe in always putting my client at the heart of our sessions. What works for one client may not work for another, so together we can work towards a space which works best for you.

Area of Focus:

I also work extensively with those suffering from grief and loss, both pre and post bereavement. Understanding what a painful time this can be, I offer a warm and open space where you can process difficult emotions that may arise while going through the experience of loss. Sitting with your grief can be extremely difficult, but is an important part of the journey.  I will sit alongside you in your sadness and help you to process your grief, and find ways to learn to live with it.

Lets Connect:

I offer a gentle and non-judgmental space where we can collaborate and find a way through, whether it be work stress, grief, or any other issue that may be troubling you.

I look forward to our counselling journey together.
