Counsellor

About Me:

Hi there, I’m Jemima. I am psychotherapist trainee working towards my UKCP accredited qualification at Regents University London. I have a BSc degree in Psychology and a MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling providing further academic credibility in support of my way of working with clients.

What to Expect:

Therapy will provide an opportunity to explore your life more closely to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your struggles. It is a collaborative process which I commit to as we navigate the distresses and find alternative ways of approaching them.
Most importantly though, to reach resolution that will support you in shifting your thoughts and the feelings associated to enable new opportunities for change in moving forward.

My Approach:

My approach is both humanistic, and integrative, where I draw upon a range of theoretical models across psychotherapy. This approach aligns with my intention to keep the client at the heart of their session in order to best support and signify the individuality of each client.

The significance of the therapeutic relationship remains at the core of effective therapy and client growth. I believe my own cross-cultural upbringing to have influenced and inspired the way in which both myself and the client experience ‘being’ and feeling connected in our work. I consider such exposure to have facilitated the feeling of ease that clients have described in regard to feeling safe and supported amid their ability to self-disclose. This, along with the attention and nurturing offered enables healing to occur whilst accessing possibilities that perhaps have once felt out of reach.

Area of Focus:

I work with clients facing a range of issues, including anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, trauma, relational matters, grief and eating disorders.
Essentially, the focus of therapy is to implement internal change. So, my goal is to seek a balance between ensuring clients’ feels understood and supported while also gently confronting the obstacles that may be standing in the way towards leading a more fulfilling life.

Lets Connect:
